Basic Tips To Improve Your Gardening

Gardening is supposed to be fun, but some people usually shudder when some one suggests they do their gardening for themselves. By learning some basic gardening tricks, you will be able to save a lot of money and even make your gardening a breeze. In this article, I am going to let you into a few gardening tips which will cover all aspects of gardening. From preventing dirt accumulating in your finger nails to avoiding hurting yourself during your gardening ventures, improvising gardening tools and even making your own fertiliser from basic kitchen waste.

1. Tired of having salt deposits form on your beautiful antique clay pots? The remedy is simple, just combine equal parts of vinegar, rubbing alcohol and some water in a spray bottle. Apply this mixture on your pot and then scrub it with a plastic brush. After scrubbing, give it sometime to dry before planting anything. This simple technique will prevent any salt deposits from forming in your pot and keep them looking new and polished

2. If you love gardening like I do, you have probably experienced the discomfort associated with dirt accumulating in your finger nails. It is annoying, isn't it? Just imagining how much you will have to spent cleaning your fingernails after gardening makes you want to avoid it all together. But preventing dirt from accumulating in your fingernails is rather simple. You just have to draw your nails across a bar of soap. This will effectively seal your undersides in a way that prevent dirt from accumulating in them. After you finish gardening, all you have to do is to use a nail brush and your nails will be sparkling again.

3. You don't have to carry your tape measure with you every time you are gardening, you can actually turn any long -handled tool into a measuring stick! All you have to do is to lay the tool on the ground next to a tape measure, then using a permanent marker, write inch and foot marks on the stick and you are ready to go.

4. You can also use your little clay pots as cloches to protect young plants from overnight freezes and frosts.

5.Got Aphids on your veggies? You can control them easily using a strong blast of water from a horse pipe or insecticidal soap, wait a minute, a got a better and more fun idea for you. Why don't you just get some tape, wrap a wide strip of the tape around your hand with the stick side out and pat the infected parts!

6. Give your plants some veggie soup! I know that when you boils or steam vegetables, you always pour down the water down the drainage, right? Let me give you another tip of how to utilize this water. Why not use it to water your potted patio plants? Then watch how they respond to this veggie soup.
