Best Business Marketing Tips

Copyright (c) 2015 Jason Pendrith

I have written many articles about business marketing tips on Social Media: reviews, guides, counsels others news, resources. But like any job, there are those basic things, those lessons or habits that make you work easier and more efficient. These results mostly from experience, the mistakes made. So I'll tell you nine things you've learned in recent years and useful (I hope) for those working in this industry. But, I'm sure there are others.

Here are the best 9 business marketing tips:

1. No strategy resembles another.

So do not focus to copy or to rely on what others do. Extract parts relevant to the needs and capabilities of the business they promote. Align strategy to business objectives and culture you belong. Do not worry too much what others do. Do not be impressed by how quickly do things. I've been there myself, seeing how competition gathers millions of fans in a few months. I was wrong. I assure you that you will get surprising results, if you will adapt and customize the strategy.

2. Ignore jargon.

Do not let technology, jargon and sometimes poor or confusing mechanisms of social networks to overshadow the simplicity of a social business. Try to see beyond the platforms, tools, tweets, check-ins, Edgerank. Finally, it comes to social interactions that are already used to. No matter how complicated it sometimes seemed Social Media, the truth is that it's so simple and normal as a smile, a handshake or a conversation. Be present, listen and participate. The rest will come along.

3. Social is who you are.

Many businesses fail in Social Media because it changes just what they do, at a superficial level. There is a change in the company's identity. As Social Media Manager, you are limited. The entire company must have a pro mentality Social Media. If you care about the customer, Social Media will be magic pill that will change that. But if you care, Social Media will amplify that feeling. Change the attitude of management is as important as creating Social Media marketing strategies.

4. Social Media channels are not only dedicated marketing.

Although it can be used as a very effective tool for marketing, Social Media program should not be managed exclusively by the marketing department. Implement Social Media in every department. Adapt the program to the diverse needs of different sectors of a business. Focus on that.

5. Dedicate twice as much time listening than speaking.

Everywhere I look online, I see companies who dedicate most of their time and resources in producing content: blog posts, press releases, tweets, post links. Content marketing is increasingly used more. And yes, it is very good. But what works better is to deposit more effort into listening strategy. Listen to your customers. Listen competition customers. Learn what they like, what they stirs interest, they do not like, what they want. Learn from clients how to be the best. As I said, market perception (not yours) to indicate the brand value of the company. Another of the important business marketing tips.

6. People are more important than technology.

If you meet specialists who explain just the past or about Social Media Platforms coolest tools, ask them what is the essence of Social Media. Ideal answer, in my view: the promotion through social media is about people who care about other people, about delight and please your customers. Tools and platforms are ephemeral, not people. People are the ones who make your Social Media marketing strategy fail or succeed.

7. Humanization can be a business tool.

One of the most problematic aspects in a Social Media program is to make the connection between the social nature of interactions on social networks and business objectives. Do not just focus on doing business. Create a flow. Not only talk about what you're doing. Let your customers generate discussions but trying to drive much conversation as you can in a natural way. Create awareness, then preference, loyalty and then, finally, evangelistic crusade. Discussions can be about anything but your aim is to get a final point, it becomes relevant and monetization occurs.

8. Watch what you outsource.

Working with external partners is beneficial. But in my opinion, you can only outsource those elements of a program on Social Media: monitoring, market research, design, planning content, even marketing or advertising campaigns. The most important thing that should not outsource it is community management, customer relations, as we detailed here.

9. Learn all the time.

Read specialist blogs. Participate in conferences. Interact with other professionals in the niche. Create a daily program of self-education. You'll notice that we who are part of this community of people dedicated to Social Media Marketing, we help each other all the time. Nobody has all the solutions and should not bother you alone. Ask and someone will help you with an answer.

As a small conclusion, remember to be careful, friendly and reliable. If you go on the road with these principles, the rest are solved much easier. Relax. It's all about listening and speech communication. We're doing this for thousands of years, only now we do it slightly faster, better and in more diverse ways. These are the essential business marketing tips.
