Types Of Bathroom Taps

In the past, anyone going out to choose a bathroom tap wouldn't have much of a hard time, because they looked alike in a one way or another. But these days, it is quite a hard task. This is because there is a wide range of taps to choose from in terms of style, design and class. The good thing is that the tap collections in the market are appealing to suit any person's taste and preference.

Here is a list of different types of bathroom faucets available in the market:

1. Traditional Bathroom Faucets - This collection comes in arched version or curved version. Some of them have rotational handles, the ones that you rotate clockwise or anti clockwise to control the water flow. An example of such is the cross handle tap with four knobs. These have an easy grip thus making your bath tub or wash basin look classy. Most traditional bathroom faucets have handles that are lowered or lifted to control the flow of water.

2. Freestanding Faucets - These types of faucets rise up from the floor to reach the baths or basins on a counter top. Most of them are made in a classy and stylish manner because they draw a lot of attention.

3. Monobloc Mixer Faucets- These types are controlled by one lever. They mix cold and hot water through a single sprout. They are built as one single unit and are easy to control. They can be used with counter top basins, baths and wash basins with a single hole created for the faucets.

4. Wall Mounted Faucets - This collection of faucets is attached to the wall and sticks out over the tub or wash basin. They can be a bit challenging in installing because the water pipes are concealed inside the wall.

5. Mixer Faucets - Mixer faucets draw both cold and hot water from the pipes. They have one sprout and two handles, one for hot water and another for cold water. They easily control the temperature of the water. The faucets are generally safe for a home with small children because they do not draw scalding hot water. For this tap to perform properly in your bathroom, the water pressure should be high.

6. Deck Mounted Faucets - These are fixed to the bath tub or wash basin. They come through a single or two drilled holes. They are more common compared to wall mounted faucets because of their ease in plumbing them in.

7. Pillar Faucets - These come with two separate sprouts. One draws hot water while the other draws cold water. The two flow separately into the bath tub or the wash basin. You get to choose your preferred water temperature with this kind of tap.

Now you have an idea of the different models and types of faucets that are available in the market. When you visit a shop selling faucets, you will get to see the variety mentioned above. You can choose one according to your taste and function you would want the tap to perform in your home.
