The resin on the material is then activated by the use of water or ultra violet light while the inflatable gadget holds the material in place. The resin is given time to cure after which the inflatable gadget is removed.

Slip Lining

Slip lining is another type of the pipe relining technology. In this method, the plumber uses stiff tubes to repair the cracked pipes. A stiff tube is inserted into the cracked pipe in order to strengthen it and to also repair the cracks.

The slip line method can either use the segmented installation or the continuous installation method. The segmented installation is where the tubes are inserted into the damaged pipe as separate pieces. The continuous installation method is where the tube is inserted into the damaged pipe as one piece. The tubes that are inserted into the damaged pipes are normally made from high density polyethylene and fiberglass.

Pipe Excavation

When a cracked drain is so severely damaged that the pipe relining method cannot work, the plumber will have to dig up the pipe, remove it and replace it with a new pipe. Digging up pipes is not only costly but it can take a few days to complete the work.

This is quite inconveniencing since you will not be able to use the drains while the repair work is done. The repair work will also cause some damage to your property since a walkway or a well manicured garden may need to be dug up in order to access the pipes.
